Snoods, Scrunchies & Hairnets

A Snood  is an Old English word for a pouchlike hat, often of net, loosely holding a woman's hair at the back. Today it is used to describe more decorative hair accessories for holding up a woman's hair . In olden Scotland, a snood desribed a headband worn most often by young unmarried women.
